The purpose of the post is to revisit four thematic units that I have posted in the past. By reviewing these units, I want the reader to understand the connections between them and how they leverage using authentic resources to teach language and culture.
I teach language and culture through resources from francophone countries in order to:
- Capture interest in cultures of the world
- Engage students through themes that motivate them
- Shift the focus away from glorifying French culture
I intend to use techniques from Acquisition Driven Instruction to make the lessons accessible and supported, so that not only the highly motivated students succeed but the whole class learns and achieves together.
